Offered for your consideration here is what is known as a Gohonzon Buddhist mandala used in worship in various Nichiren Buddhist Sects. All the Nichiren sects of this Buddhism venerate the founder 13th century priest known as Nichiren Daishonin (Nichiren Shonin in some sects).
They focus their prayers towards the scroll and chant the words Nam Myoho Renge Kyo (some sects say Namu followed by Myoho Renge Kyo).
The mandala measures (NOT including the frame) approx.8.0 inches by 10.0 inches.
The Nichiren Gohonzon mandala being offered here is unusual in being that it is a Color Pictorial Manifestation of what a Nichiren Gohonzon typically is: (ALL Nichiren Gohonzon\'s use Japanese Kanji and/ or Sanskrit Characters to represent different Buddha\'s, Bodhisattva\'s, and other personages and life states)........This Pictorial Gohonzon shows the personages that the typical Kanji/Sanskrit Gohonzon shows.
The mandala shows beautifully down the center Namu Myoho Renge Kyo in gold Kanji characters AND below it is pictured Nichiren. Surrounding the mantra and Nichiren are all the Buddha\'s, Bodhisattva\'s, and other deities important in Buddhism.
