This lithograph is inMINT condition. Hand-signed in pencil by Gnatek on the lower right corner. Also, numbered #3 out of an edition 95. Wood frame shows minimal wear (please see photographs). This piece measures approximately 28.5"H by 25.25"W (framed), while the visible image is 24.5"H by 21.5"W. This special A/P was personally dedicated by Gnatek.
Mr. Gnatek (1934-2006) was born in Hadley, Mass., and had an early interest in art. He studied painting at Yale University and in the Marine Corps, where he was a combat artist and portraitist. He worked in advertising for many years, first with department stores and later at his own agency while polishing a talent for painting portraits of historical figures. Gnatek eventuallybecame a specialist in portraits of military figures and American Indians. Later in life, he found his work in high demand by historical societies, private collectors, and commercial galleries nationwide.
