Early 1970s Matthew Norman 2-day Alarm Clock

This handsome clock is from my personal collection of meritorious timepieces.Commencing with apprenticeship to a European master clock and watchmaker through high school graduation, freshmen year of college and remainder of the 1970s, I sensitively restored clocks of all types; opening service and sales showrooms in the western suburbs of Chicago. After a 35 year "sabbatical" pursuing an appraisal career, I returned to the venerable trade. Satin brushed angled brass plinth. Rectangular facade with green and black faux marble painted fired enamel. Convex crystal recessed in bold polished brass bezel with notched corners. White dial with Roman numerals outside the chapter ring. Black enameled Breguet style hands, silver alarm pointer.
Movement cover stamped Jewelled Lever Swiss and Mod. Depose; markings designate functions and directions of winding / setting. Winding raises the button at left. Alarm bell is silenced by depressing the button. 11-jewel Cyma movement dated June 20, 1973 with lever escapement and patented combined time/alarm mainspring.
