Available for purchase is a LARGE silverplate figural centerpiece bowl shaped like a Venetian gondola. The sides of the boat have a detailed repousse floral design in the style of figural pieces from the Victorian era. The handles on each end are shaped like a dragon and have a cherub sitting on top. The bottom of the boat has a hammered texture.
This monumental centerpiece bowl measures about 19 1/4" long, 8" wide, and 12” tall. Although done in the style of 19th century figural silverplate, this piece is not an antique and was likely produced during the last half of the 20th century. It's made of plated and lacquered nickel silver. It's a heavy, high quality piece created by skilled craftsmen. I purchased this centerpiece bowl at a recent estate sale.
Condition of this silverplate gondola is very nice. The silver plating is in great shape with some tarnished areas on the underside of the base. Overall, this Victorian-style decorative bowl looks fantastic and displays beautifully. It would be an elegant addition to any home.
