154CM SteelBlade

154CM is one of the "better'' steel varieties made for cutlery and otherknife blades. It's not a powder steel (CPM154 would be thepowder version), but it's a commonly used steel for a higher gradeknife. A popular use for 154CM is in survival knives that are often exposed toharsh elements like salt water for extended periods. It has an exceptionallygood balance between three enviable attributes which are toughness, hardness, and corrosion resistance. 154CM is a very high carbon stainless steelwith the addition of Molybdenum. It most certainly gives you a better edgeretention than common cutlery or stainless steels.

Titanium and Micarta Handle

The Kizer Coniferous V offers a dual-material handle with Titanium and Micarta. Titanium alloys contain a mixture of titanium and otherchemical elements like small quantities of palladium, vanadium, aluminum, and/or tin. Micarta is a flax or paper fabric laminatedwith epoxy resin. Its advantages are lightweight and gooddurability. Micarta has a certain degree of waterabsorption, and the color will change when wet. The handle has an unique sensations of metallic and fabric textures.
