IMPORTANT ZUNI ATTR. TEDDY WEAHKEE KNIFEWING BOLO RARE SHELLS &AMP STONES 1940s. Welcome! Offered... a very rare and exceptionally gorgeous early bolo dating to the 1940s, made by the renowned Zuni artist, Teddy Weahkee. Masterful Zuni artist Teddy Weahkee was a renowned carver of fetishes as well as a master jeweler and painter of fine art. Teddy received his basic education at the Phoenix Indian School. He then returned to Zuni Pueblo. After serving in World War II, Teddy began learning silversmithing. It depicts a KNIFEWING man figure made with flush, detailed, mosaic inlay of exceptional shells and stones and fine quality inlay of some very tiny pieces. There are several elements which were often attributed to Teddy Weahkee the bolo is signed HEX so I'm quite confident in the attribution.

It is made of red abalone, regular alone, jet and natural turquoise, coral and highly iridescent mother of pearl. It's in excellent vintage, wearable and highly collectible condition, with a small hairline on the turquoise in one wing and some wear at the top of the turquoise on the other wing and is in good vintage condition original, wearable.
