Houdini's Death has been surrounded in Mystery, Legend, and Distortions since the Day he passed.In Detroit, he was staying at the Statler Hotel and performing at the Garrick Thetre, just a short distance away.
After being struck in the stomach, in Montreal, by an overzealous college student, Houdini was now suffering with a ruptured appendix that had become gangenous. The agony must have been excruciating!
When Houdini collapsed during his show, the house doctor at the Staler Hotel was summoned.
Young, D.E. Cohn, MD, had just opened his new practice in downtown Detroit.
He was also moonlighting as the House Doctor at the Statler Hotel, probably for free lodging.
Dr. Cohn, was the first doctor to treat and stabilize Houdini at the Statler, before moving him to room 401 at grace Hospital in Detroit.This listing is for FOUR Reprint Documents.
