Hopi Kachina Doll - Tokoch, the Bobcat Kachina by Woody Sewemaenewa - Epic For Sale

Presented today is this dramatically posed Kachina doll, depicting Tokach, or Tokatsi, the Bobcat Kachina. This Kachina is best known as an Angry Kachina, and in former times, served as an enforcer at community projects, such as cleaning out the springs or irrigation canals. He appears occasional in Mixed Kachina dances.This beautiful example, standing 9 and a half inches tall, is carved by Woody Sewemaenewa, of Bacavi, and was carved around 2010. Woody was taught the art of carving by his father, Delbert, and shows his work frequently at McGee's Indian Arts in Keams Canyon, as well as the incomparable internet net site, ancientnations.
