This is a very heavy and solid mallet. The head is made from hickory which is a very hard and heavy wood. The handle is Honduran rosewood. It has sapwood and heartwood. The sapwood is surprisingly hard and strong. I guarantee you won’t break it!!
The mallet weighs about 30 ounces and is 14 inches long overall. The head is about 5 1/4 x 2 5/8 x 3 1/8 inches. The head has a 2 degree angle at the ends.
The handle has been shaped to fit the hand.
The mallet has been very well sanded then a coat of linseed oil applied.
