Underwood Jewell portable typewriter with case. It's serial number, W-2504942, dates it to 1954.
Excellent cosmetic condition! The green-on-green crinkle paint is nearly enchanting. It does have a few spots where it needs to be cleaned. The tombstone-shaped keytops, which mimic the tips of the fingertips, are lovely. Nickel plating is well preserved. More, than anything, this example just needs a good cleaning. Displays beautifully!
The typewriter works really, really well. Carriage advances and returns well. Nice ding at the end of each line. No sticking typebars. Just needs a new ribbon ad ready to write.
The rubber platen is original and hard but still useable. Please email me for a quote if you are interested in having a new platen installed.
This Underwood types 10 characters per inch (Pica).
Again, excellent condition!
An original case is included.
