Beautiful masterpiece carousel by the very talented and popular Roque family with a quail nicely perched on top. Expertly handcrafted at their workshop in Oaxaca, Mexico out of localy copal wood. Copal wood is considered by Oaxacans to be sacred and is the wood of choice for most wood carvers in the region. This tree is native to Oaxaca and is the only place in the world where it can be found. The Roque family makes some of the most whimsical and vibrant pieces and their carousels, ferris wheels and train sets are some of our favorite pieces. This piece can be spun around by hand and is a great centerpiece for any art collection.
