Entire Fossil Baby Coelocanth Triassic, Over 200 Million YO For Sale

When I decided to sell this, one of my great fossil pleasures, I realized I was getting serious about moving my collections onto other collectors, so my daughter doesn’t have to worry about it after I croak. Boy howdy, as they say outside of New York City, this was hard to photograph and put up. Hard to photograph partly because it’s dark black reflective slate from the famous Triassic slate deposits of New Jersey. That alone makes this fossil very rare. But an entire baby coelocanth with every tiny little bone exposed? A quick check of prices reveals that the closest thing are two fossils from Lebanon at $600 and $1400. Neither was in the detail of this rare New JerseyTriassic slate fossil, over 200,000,000 years old. Hard as it is, $269, shipping included, pries it out of my hands. Note: the fine details of this fossil are best revealed under strong light.
