Maker: On the bottom of this dramatic large centerpiece or serving bowl is the handwritten designation \"M. Deruta 132/40\". Deruta, Italy, has produced beautiful ceramics for centuries.
Design: In keeping with that long tradition of excellence, the dish is in the classic Deruta colors of rust and yellow and is beautifully hand painted in a bold floral pattern.
Size: The bowl is about 14 3/4 inches wide, about 4 inches tall at the top of the handles, and about 2 1/4 inches tall. It weighs an impressive 5 pounds 10 ounces.
Condition: It\'s in excellent condition with no marks, nicks, chips, cracks, scratches, stains, discoloration, repairs or wear. It has the pinpoint pricks and inconsistencies in glazing and paint that are typical of handmade Deruta ceramics and add to their charm.
On the edge is a manufacturing flaw that looks like damage but it is not. The flaw is under the glaze and was created in the manufacturing process. It\'s shown in the photo with the red arrow and is visible in other photos.
Please check all the photos very carefully - they are an important part of the description.
