The top is silver plate, and well marked. The bottom of the glass shaker is also marked. However, please note that the small top piece is missing. It still functions, but the sugar will come out very quickly. Please make a note of this. I have shown this in the photographs. I have put it in the title. And it is here in the description. Please make a note that the very top of the silver plate top of this sugar shaker is missing.
