For your consideration, you are viewing a Mid CenturyVintage Casdon England Bakelite Backing Free Standing Perpetual Calendar featuring a silver-coloured composite embossed Ships Wheel with 2 Lifesaver Rings and 2 Fish at the base as the front facade. It has 3 internal wheels, with a finger recess on the outer facade to turn them (one at the top, and one on either side) so that you can rotate the dials to change the DAY, the MONTH, and the YEAR.It has a bright swirling green bakelite composite backing board with 2 legs, that stand easily. On the front, it features a poem printed on paper that has been glued onto the front in the centre of the ship\'s wheel, which reads

It has its embossed marker mark on the green bakelite backing board which reads \"A CASDON PRODUCT BRITISH MADE REGISTERED DESIGN APPLIED FOR.\"

#CASDON LTD (1946-CURRENT) Tom Cassidy worked during the war as a toolmaker, hand engraver and die sinker in Blackpool. Later in his spare time, he repaired household vacuum cleaners, and in September 1944 he married Bridget Donnelly. In early 1946 Tom left his ‘day job’ to become self-employed, in June 1946 he began to record sales in his ledger book. In the 1950s he rented a small building and his workforce grew to 12 employees, output increased and Tom was joined in the partnership by his brother Joe. The trademark ‘CASDON’ was registered. (a combination of Tom\'s surname \"Cassidy\" and his wife Bridget’s maiden name, \"Donnelly\"). By the 1960s the company was separated from fancy goods manufacturing and moved into toys and games which continues today.

CONDITION:This Casdon Perpetual Calendar is Vintage 50s, Pre-Owned and it is in Good Condition. The backing green bakelite has no chips, cracks or structural damage. All the wheels are rotating and all the lettering on the 3 wheels is intact. The paper \"Home\" poem is discoloured with age. The silver-gilt plating has some flecks missing, the front ship\'s wheel has 2 chips on the bottom left base. # Please note: The Photographs form part of the description; Super-sized photos can show up the finer details and conditions.

DAMAGED & LOST MAIL: All items over $10 are sent with Tracking and Insurance. If your item is lost in the post, you need to contact Auspost directly to claim your insurance.

FRAGILE MAIL: If you require a Fragile Service, you will need to find a courier company that offers this service. Australia Post Extra Cover Insurance will cover you for loss only. Australia Post does not offer a fragile service so items cannot be covered for damage in transit. I always add lots of extra weight to the postage cost to make sure your item is well packed making its journey to you intact. I use heavy-duty bubble wrap, newspaper and recycled boxes.
