This rare and hard-to-find circa 1920-1923 antique Walden-Worchester Number 8 combination /interchangeable1/2-drive socket wrench set will make an excellent addition to your collection. The set is enclosed in the original wooden box case and includes a No. 516 ratchet, a No. 1102 universal joint, two No. 1109 drive plugs, a No. 1139 extension, seven 2xx-series hex sockets with sizes from 1/2 to 15/16, and one No. 118 9/16 square socket (in addition to one odd flat ring/washer that was with it when I purchased it). The socket models and sizes are 118 (9/16 square), 216 (1/2), 218 (9/16, missing), 220 (5/8), 222 (11/16), 224 (3/4), 228 (7/8), and 230 (15/16).
The set was marketed for early Ford Motors repair jobs and automobile mechanic work and repair in general. Previous listings mention that the set was featured in Walden\'s 1923 catalog but I cannot guarantee. The set does have wear including a stress crack/fracture on the 7/8\" & 9/16\" sockets as circled in red in the photos (and as shown in zoomed in detail in the last photo) in addition to heavy overall wear as described below so PLEASE read complete details below, closely review photos for details and let me know if you would like additional photos or information as I am happy to provide.
