Angelita Sanchez (1926-1994)
Vintage San Ildefonso pottery bowl. Black colored made by traditional coiled clay method, smoothed, fired, and stone-burnished to a high polish with matte black design. The design is around the center section of the bowl in two panels. Each panel is painted with the same abstract patterns outlined in flat black paint, including a row of (8) vertical stylized "feathers".
Signed on the base "Angelita Sanchez, San Ildelfonso."Circa: 1960's - 1970's

This is a beautiful large bowl. Nice size and symmetrical shape, made by traditional methods with traditional designs. This is truly a work of art.
