For those unfamiliar with Sebastian miniatures,.. they were started in 1938 by Mr. Prescott Baston. His pieces were made of ceramstone rather than the traditional fired porcelain which made them less expensive. They are all hand cast & hand painted. He sold retail, private commissions, and collectors clubs. All pieces are marked, usually with date and item name & no two pieces are exactly alike.
In1949 Sebastian miniatures made "Oliver Twist and Beadle". Shows Oliver holding the Beadle's hand as he takes him off to his apprenticeship. It stands 3.25" high and the base is a 1.5" hexagon. Condition perfect.
