In the movie Don Amache shines as never been before more charming or vibrant than in this parody of the Alexandre Dumas, classic French book written in 1844. Don Ameche can sing, and is a great comic actor. Don Amache stars as the French, D'Artagnan, who in fact was a real person: the real story: D'Artagnan was born at the Chateau de Castelmore, near the City of Lupiac, in south western France. His father, Bertrand de Batz, Lord of Castelmore, was the son of a newly ennobled merchant, Arnaud de Batz, who purchased the Chateau de Castelmore. D'Artagnan found a way to enter into the Musketeers in 1632 through the support of his uncle, Henri de Montesquiou D'Artagnan. D'Artagnan joined the guards in the mid-1630's and served under Captain Des Essarts. His regiment saw much action in the early 1640's, taking part in the sieges at Arrras, France, Aire-sur-la-lys, France, la Bassee and Bapaume in the early 1640's. Also shown is a Western Union Telegram, a old fashioned version of e-mail. After playing in college shows, repertory theatre and vaudeville he became a major radio star in the early 1930's, which led to the offer of a movie contract from 20th Century Fox in 1936.
