From the golden era of quality and design, an ultra rare 1930s Hermès desk notepad designed by Paul Dupré Lafon, defined "The decorator of Millionaires"Crafted in France from high-quality Sellier leather, this desk accessory combines timeless aesthetic with utility. The body is made of leather only, three thick layers of leather pressed without glue, and merged together with strong stitching. This feature makes the base heavy and a stable support to write
There is still the original notepad refill, now empty, stamped on the spine "Hermès Paris". It can be replaced with a new one, the cardboard back goes inside a pocket in the base, that's how it's held in place. The back is signed "Hermès Paris", "J.H" monogram in the front cover. The two gilt brass bars are made of solid brass.
The cover is attached to the base through 5 thin stripes of leather. 2 of them are broken (the original owner tried to glue one of them). The cover is very heavy so, they're not appropriately proportioned. This is a very common issue, 95% of them are like this, even the ones in mint conditions. Consider that this item is almost 100 years old.Feel free to message me for any further information or photo, Thank you
