Dame Agnes Sybil Thorndike, Lady Casson CH DBE (24 October 1882 – 9 June 1976) was an English actress who toured internationally in Shakespearean productions, often appearing with her husband Lewis Casson. Bernard Shaw wrote Saint Joan specially for her, and she starred in it with great success. She was made Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire in 1931, and Companion of Honour in 1970. Thorndike was born on 24 October 1882 in Gainsborough, Lincolnshire, the eldest of the four children of Agnes Macdonald, daughter of ship engineer John Bowers, and Reverend Arthur John Webster Thorndike (1853–1917). When she was two years old her father was appointed a minor canon of Rochester Cathedral. She was educated at Rochester Grammar School for Girls, and first trained as a classical pianist, making weekly visits to London for music lessons at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. Her childhood home in Rochester has been renamed after her. She gave her first public performance as a pianist at the age of 11, but in 1899 was forced to give up playing owing to piano cramp. At the instigation of her brother, the author Russell Thorndike, she then trained as an actress under Elsie Fogerty at the Central School of Speech and Drama, then based at the Royal Albert Hall, London. 

Maurice Hurley (August 16, 1939 – February 24, 2015) was an American screenwriter and producer known best for his work on Star Trek: The Next Generation. In the 1980s, his work for television included writing scripts for The Equalizer and Miami Vice. He also produced some episodes of The Equalizer. He wrote the script for the film Firebird 2015 AD in 1981, and in 2002 co-wrote the film Groom Lake with William Shatner. Hurley co-created the show Pointman with Joel Surnow & Steve Hattman; Surnow would go on to create 24 & La Femme Nikita and Hurley would work with him for a time there as a writer/producer.  Other TV efforts included writing and/or producing episodes of Baywatch, Baywatch Nights, Kung Fu: The Legend Continues and Diagnosis: Murder. In Star Trek: The Next Generation, Hurley was the series' initial head writer and show runner. His influence was substantial as he introduced creative elements on the series that are now part of the franchise, notably the Borg. Hurley was blamed for the firing of Gates McFadden, who played the role of Dr. Beverly Crusher, at the end of the show's first season. Executive producer Rick Berman recalled that Hurley "had a real bone to pick" with McFadden and did not like her acting. He left the series after its second season, which left the door open for Rick Berman to rehire McFadden after dismissing her replacement Diana Muldaur. Hurley was replaced by Michael I. Wagner for four episodes and ultimately by Michael Piller. In 1993, he would return to the franchise briefly, asked by Berman to write an initial draft for the first Next Generation feature film Star Trek Generations that would transition the film series from the original Enterprise crew to the current era crew. Hurley's story treatment involved a plot in which James T. Kirk is somehow propelled into the future, where he manifests on the holodeck and works with Jean-Luc Picard to help solve a dilemma involving an interdimensional species, but Berman ultimately chose a script treatment proposed by Ronald D. Moore and Brannon Braga. 

Frank Parish Conroy (14 October 1890 – 24 February 1964)] was a British film and stage actor who appeared in many films, notably Grand Hotel (1932), The Little Minister (1934) and The Ox-Bow Incident (1943). Born in Derby, England,[2] Conroy began acting on stage in 1908. He acted in Shakespearean plays in England from 1910 until he came to the United States in 1915. He was responsible for building the Greenwich Village Theatre which opened in 1917, and he directed productions of the repertory theater there for three years. He appeared in more than 40 Broadway plays, beginning with The Passing Show of 1913 (1913) and ending with Calculated Risk (1962). He won a Tony Award for best supporting actor for his performance in Graham Greene's The Potting Shed (1957). Conroy's work on television included appearances on Kraft Theater and The Play of the Week. 

Richard Longman is a British racing driver and renowned motorsport preparation expert. He was twice champion of the British Touring Car Championship (then known as the British Saloon Car Championship) in 1978 and 1979 driving a Mini 1275 GT for Patrick Motorsport, which ran the works British Leyland supported team. The following year he switched to a class C Ford Fiesta. In 1984 he was class C champion in his Ford Escort Mk3 RS1600i. He also has a house in the Bahamas as well as property in the New Forest, Hampshire.
