A Barling Straight Grain Bulldog; does it get any better? That's a rhetorical question as Barling always did make fantastic Bulldogs well renowned for being some of the finest old English smokers of all time. The "Straight Grain" grade is not stamped nor are sizes such as EL or EXEL but I'd comfortably say this is a solid Group 4 with a perfectly double beaded bowl offering thick walls with a healthy sized chamber.
Transition is pronounced to a rather muscular quarter+ bent diamond shank that is well proportioned and appears to be the original, but the logo has been polished or buffed off. I think I can see it with magnifying glass but I’m not certain. Finish is that lovely signature Barling rich medium with golden undertones while the briar shows off gorgeous straight grain wrapping 360 degrees! Overall clean throughout, this one promises an unparalleled smoking experience!

Condition: Very Good to Excellent. Chamber is clean and sound showing a touch of reaming in the heel. Briar has some scratches/dings but nothing major. Stem shows some buffing wear but is overall crisp with very little tooth marks. Ready to enjoy for another forty years!
