Verticle Hang and "clip placement" makes this knife a Handy Tool !
This new Elk-Ridge "Assisted" liner-lock knife is "faster" in and out of the pocket than most models. The "upside down" vertical hang with the clip allows the middle finger to "draw" the knife while leaving the handy stud to the index finger for an easier opening. That integral "thumb or finger" stud is easy to see (and to find by feel.) The styling reminds me of those "classic lock-backs" made popular by "Buck" and "Case XX" as well as Frost Cutlery. This "Elk Ridge" model is far better looking- with choices in Ebony-wood and Pearl Celluloid (pictured here.) The price is beyond excellent- allowing you to buy "the entire series" for the price of a single "Case XX."- Heavy duty Bolsters, steel Liners and Support Pin makes it TUFF for daily use. Nice quality knife for the money!
I was skeptical of the quality of the knife at first, being only $9.00. But after I received it, I was in shock! Very nice quality steel for the blade. And is sharp!!! If I had a con on this knife it would be that it is a bit stiff out of the box, but with a little work, it will eventually loosen up. Overall, I am satisfied with the purchase. Thanks!

nice knife
better looking in person than in the picture, always makes me happy. Blade opened a little stiff and hard, but a half turn on the pivot screws to slightly loosen cured the problem. Easy fix, common problem with many side opening spring assisted, but cure is easy. In any case a nice knife anyone would be proud to own

Elkridge knife is great.
I have had many knives with the same features. This is the only one that doesn't fall apart due to loosing screws. Good looking tough knife that comes razor sharp and keeps an edge. If you abuse it like I do you can sharpen it quickly on the steel.
