it's a a nice froe. it works as you'd expect. you hit it with froe mallet to cut wood. it take some skill but not too difficult the froe is made of two piece weld together and is painted black. it comes disassembled an two screw, but it has a single hole, so I assume you are meant to keep one as spare/gift. I pre-drilled a tiny hole to make it easy for the screw to fit snugly without the risk of cracking the wood. I might sharpen it a bit later, but I don't think it needs to be super sharp.

    A solid tool.

    This froe is very solid. I have looked around for a froe, but I often encountered reviews indicating that the blade seemed to be a recycled lawnmower blade. This froe is certainly no recycled mower blade. I purchased this to remove bark from logs that I want to use for various projects in my wood shop. I recommend this froe without reservation.

    It is junk

    The metal is inferior and it attaches to the handle (which you must do yourself) instead of by way of wedge which is more secure considering how the tool is used. The current set up wont last. Its really junk
