Inside of the shaft, there were four holes and a weird enclosure that made it so the smoke came up through four tiny holes

Sorry to see you ddint like your item though I'm not entirely sure I understand your issue. If those hole didnt exist then no smoke would come up and there would be no way to use the item (thats the whole idea of the perc with the holes otherwise you'd have a sealed chamber with no way to release the smoke).

I purchased TWO of these items. They arrived within four days, and were VERY securely packed - tightly wrapped in multiple layers of bubble-wrap, and then individually bagged in a thick plastic, with lots of paper filling in a well taped and perfectly sized box. Both items were in absolutely perfect condition, and were EXACTLY as described in the seller's listing. The build quality of both items is very solid. I am quite happy with this transaction, and will purchase from this seller again.
