THIS SPOOL ROD WILL WORK WITH THE SINGER 20 MACHINE & OTHER ANTIQUE METAL MACHINES(See dimensions below).IT WILLNOT WORK WITH THE SINGER 40K OR 50D MACHINE OR ANY MACHINE MADE OF PLASTIC.Depending on age and usage of machine, the spool rod hole may slightly differ from machine to machine. If the hole is too tight, use a hammer to lightly tap the spool rod into the hole. If the hole is too wide, use craft glue for a tighter fit. If neither of these actions work, contact the seller for a custom made rod or a refund.THIS PURCHASE IS FOR THE SPOOL ROD ONLY AND DOES NOT INCLUDE THE MACHINE (Yes, occasionally someone thinks they are purchasing the machine in the photoDescription:QUALITY:Custom made spool rod will fit any Singer 20 small girls sewing machine. The spool rodis made of the correct size metal rod 1/8th " wide by 1 1/4th" long. The rod will fit other antique metal sewing machines if the spool rod hole is 5/32th" wide. The rod is made with a high-speed cutting machine that may leave some burnt discoloration at the bottom of the rod that cannot be seen once the rod is installed into the sewing machine. Rods are cleaned with steel wool and guaranteed to be free of nicks.
INSTALLATION:Because the spool rod hole of the old Singer 20 machine tends to expand over time with use (a problem more acute with the later 50s die cast metal machine), it may be necessary to apply craft glue to the end of the rod for a tight fit.
