Pre-Columbian Mississippian Pottery Vessel Jug With Figural Birds Effigy Handle For Sale

Here we have an Pre - Columbian Mississippian Pottery Vessel Jug With Figural Bird Effigy. The tail of the bird is the handle. This is a fantastic looking Pre Columbian Bird Pottery Jar vessel. It is a bird feeding it\'s young and appears to be a Mississippi Culture piece over 700 years old. There It has wear from age and use but overall is a spectacular piece and measures approximately 8-1/2\" tall x 6-1/2\" across. Please see all photos they are a very important part of the description.
Also when I purchased this vase it came with references from the book \"Aboriginal Pottery of the Eastern US\" by W.H. Holmes. Pages 81, 85 and 88. I will include this information with the vase.
