Griswold Cast Iron #3 Square Vintage Skillet 2103
This lovely pan has very little rust/oxidation and would not need special treatment to enable use.
There are many methods offered online to bring a look of newness to these pans; it's possible when they are in good condition like this one. Personally, I wouldn't want to do that. These pans become "seasoned" with use. Taking them to "nearly new" is bringing an unpredictable factor to a near perfect cast iron pan. I'd be willing to eat a burger or an egg cooked in this one once it has beenwashed out.
I was raised in a home where most food was cooked in or on cast iron. After washing the pan we would wipe awaythe water and dry the pan with a low flame on our gas range. (still do) I liked to watch the water evaporate. We never had a rusty pan.
I wrap with the utmost care and ship right away. I never keep my customers waiting.
