Opening to reveal a hidden storage inside housing eight cups, cordials or shot glasses, all with decorative gilt edging and nestled in their fitted compartments. Stamped inside in gold leaf lettering \'Made in France\'. The volumes comprise of the following books: Annales De La Propagation De La Foi, The Fables of Florian, Jean Richeplin\'s novel Miarka, and Le Catéchisme du Concile de Trente. In overall good condition with general wear commensurate with age and use, no chips or cracks. An ideal gift, and just perfect on a desk in a private library or office setting. The tantalus measures 8 1/2\" x 5 3/4\" x 4 5/8\" height. The shot glasses are 2\" height x 1 3/8\" diameter opening.
