DESCRIPTION FOR THIS sale

Everyone likes to say their item is rare. Right? So, how rare is rare? This sale features a complete sales kit for the for the \"Marvel Superhero Action Pins\" produced by Premium Shapes in 1996. According to Matt Dancsecs, the current vice-president of Premium Shapes and one the originators of this set in 1996, there were only \"THREE\" of these sales kits issued to the sales force. Basically, there are far more copies of Action Comics #1 in existence than there are full sets of these pins. So, good luck finding another one. The other two may not even exist, so this could be the one and only. That said, you can find these pins listed individually now and then. Again, per Matt Dancsecs, there was a very limited run of 2500 of each pin created so you could try to track them all down one at a time. A search of completed sales yielded about a half a dozen, each of which sold for $9 to $20 so, if you want them all, plan on searching for a while. (The reason for the limited production, per Matt, is this was an experiment in working with a licensed product and it just did not fit into their overall business plan so they did not pursue it.)

A few things about this lot. Although there are only sixteen pins listed on the included sheet, there are actually seventeen pins. Per Matt, it was decided to add another Spider-Man pin at the last minute because there was room for it in the display. All of the pins you find on will have pinbacks. (They are pins, after all.) This is a display lot so only one pin has a pinback to show how they will look when delivered. All of the rest are attached to the binder with Velcro tabs. If you want them to be pinbacks, it would be a simple matter to remove the Velcro tab and attach a pinback. (You can buy them at just about any hobby shop.)

A little on condition. The binder is somewhat sprung. The pins are attached with Velcro so it would not be a major problem to switch to a new binder (it is your basic black binder) or even display them on some other platform. There used to be a label on the front of the binder but that is long gone. This was a sales presentation kit, so the pins have probably been handled more than a pin purchased off the shelf and put in storage. Still, they are in decent shape. On some of them the paper print is starting to separate from the underlying plastic around the edges. That is probably a matter of the glue drying out after twenty-five years combined with paper\'s natural tendency to curl over time. Since it is paper on plastic, that is an easy fix. Take a toothpick, any decent archival adhesive (I use acid-free Bind-Art for my books, but Elmer\'s is fine for most paper applications, just get the acid-free version), and work some adhesive under the edge. Press it for 20-30 minutes and, presto-chango, it will look like new and you will not even notice it.

I am starting the sale at $10 per pin, which is near the low end of what they sell for individually based on the handful of historical sales I could find. It would take years to collect all of these one-by-one and, even then, there is no guarantee that they will all eventually show up. Pins included Fantastic
Thing
Human Torch
Invisible Woman
Spider-Man with pinback
Super-Heroes logo
Spider-Man without pinback
Captain America
Thor
Iron Man
Hulk
Daredevil
Spider Woman
Ghost Rider

Be sure and check my other sales. I have started to pare down my collection of comic book related items and will be listing toys, games, puzzles, magazines, books, statues, cards, buttons, etc. Some of which are rare and hard to find.

SHIPPING

[IMPORTANT] - I will combine shipping for multiple purchases. If you do win more than one sale, please wait for an invoice so I can combine the shipments. will not allow combined shipping once payment has been made. (I will even wait a week or so to combine sales if you plan on offerding on something in the current week - just let me know.) NOTE: Does not work with the \"Buy it Now\" option

INTERNATIONAL buyers! has made it so difficult to ship internationally that I have decided to exclude all non-USA sales. I tried \'s \"Global Shipping Program\" but ran into a major issue with combined shipping so I have opted out of it. Sorry folks!
