A beautiful condition heavy solid silver 8 Day Travelling Clock. It will date by the Birmingham hallmark to circa 1922.
The Swiss 8 day movement ( probably A Shild / Hebdomas ) has just checked ok and a new button and winding stem fitted. It is running well and keeping good time for a timepiece of circa 100 years old. Takes many turns to fully wind when you can feel a click which the watchmaker says is supposed to happen when fully wound as it has a slipping mainspring.
The beautiful silver case which has not been engraved and is in excellent condition. It has polished up very well and has strong unstressed hinges, no dents or dings and the covers all close well. The pocket watch is a standard 50mm diameter and is for size reference only and not included in the sale.
It has a nice undamaged white ceramic dial with Arabic numerals and an original crystal glass which all add the the overall quality and originallity of the watch.
Please note that and antique pocket watch or clock will generally not be as accurate as a modern timepiece. A very nice solid silver travelling clock for the Collector or for Occasional Use.
