ITEM:Up for sale is this rare \"yard long\" photograph showing the U.S. Army Base for the 33rd Infantry, Fort Clayton in the Panama Canal Zone in the background and the U.S. Navy battleship the USS Oklahoma passing through the canal.
Here is another photograph marked C-20 by J. Fisher, USA. You can see Fort Clayton, Panama Railroad RR Station and the Target Range in the background. In front is the U.S. Navy battleship USS Oklahoma (later destroyed in the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor) leaving the lower Miraflores Locks.
All original period photograph that measures approx. 38 by 5 inches, typically referred to as a yard long image. Will be shipped rolled in a mailing tube or a small box as I found it. Discoloration on the left side of the image, pinholes in the corners, and six heavy crease running across the image, some wear around the edges.
The Oklahoma was upgrade in 1927, \"An aircraft catapult was installed atop turret No.3.\" This image does not show the aircraft catapult, so it is from some time before November 1927. I have not found another image like it.
I would digitally repair this image and make/sell reprints, what a remarkable image. Nice addition to your United States military collection.
