Mid-century vintage in amazing perhaps unused condition! After over 50 years these pieces are still valued for their classic design and beauty.
Finesse is a pattern of extraordinary elegance and grace. Created by Kurt Mayer of Germany, it is sculptured and balanced for comfort, impeccably produced of Cromargan 18/8 stainless steel by WMF in satin finish. Today the Finesse pattern is highly valued and sought after by collectors of vintage stainless tableware.
The US distributor for fine WMF tableware was Fraser\'s Inc on Fifth Avenue in New York. Cromargan stainless steel is made of an alloy of 18% chromium and 8% nickel. Cromargan can\'t tarnish or discolor; soap and water keep it clean and bright; it\'s unharmed even by harsh detergents and machine washings at high temperatures. A solid metal stronger than silver, the Cromargan steel used to make these spoons retains its appearance indefinitely.
I can tell you, from personal experience, that this WMF tableware will remain lovely even after a lifetime of use. I have owned, and still use daily, my own set of WMF since 1968.
The first two photos of Finesse and its description are from my personal catalog and are not included in this sale.
This set contains 4 teaspoons, 4 soup/place spoons, 4 dinner knives, and 4 dinner forks.
(Prices for four 4-piece place settings, used, at a very reputable replacements company for Finesse are currently $1,375.36.)
