The story goes that the movie’s producer, Henry Hathaway, asked Enzo Ferrari to loan him cars for the movie. After Enzo refused, Phil Hill helped arrange for Fox Studios to purchase three Ferraris—including this Barchetta—which the producer had modified to avoid giving Ferrari any free publicity. He called them “Buranos.”Chassis 0102 E remained a Burano until the current owner, Tom Peck,reunitedthe original body with its original chassis.Barry Rowe, a member of the Automotive Fine Arts Society (AFAS), painted his first poster for the Pebble Beach Concours in 1998.
