ANTIQUE 19TH CENTURY NEEDLEPOINT PETITPOINT TAPESTRY HAND STITCHED PILLOW
You are looking at a beautifully worked petitpoint and micro petitpoint silk and wool tapestry turned into a gorgeous one of a kind pillow. The needlepoint depicts a man seated with a book in his hand holding up his other hand to who I assume is hiswife and telling her he doesn\'t want whatever it is she is trying to serve him. It looks like a ladle so I\'m guessing it\'s a hot tody.You can tell from the clothing, furniture and drapes that this is an aristocratic couple. This stitchress paid close attention to details. Notice all the background details behind the drapes. Some of the clothing is done using shiny silk threads and even the bowl and ladle is done with gold beads. The faces are slightly paded to give a three dimensional look. The tapestry alone measures approx. 16\" x 17\". It is in excellent condition. I see no holes, stains or any defects whatsoever. The prodominent colors are many shades of brown, pink, and blue.
Around the petitpoint there is a vintage gold metallic edging. It is on a dusty pink jacquard which is on the back as well. It is finished off with two different trims. There is a bulllion fringe and on top of that a beautiful tassel trim. This pillow measures approx. 22\" x 22\" filled. There is a feather and down insert for a plush look and feel. There is a hidden zipper closure for your convenience. The entire pillow is lined for extra durability. It is designed and created to pass the test of time.
