Offered here is an exceptionally uncommon ring or circle lamp from Markel, manufactured in the later 1930’s.Markel table lamps are considered to be the “holy grail” of American art deco design and are highly prized bydesign enthusiasts andcollectors.
This lamp is in excellent working order and ready for use.It has been restored and refurbished as follows:
Most exterior components have been professionally refinished in contrasting chrome plating and gloss powder coat black.Original socket interior and rotary on/off switch have been replaced with new vintage stock. Original wiring has been replaced with new vintage reproduction rayon covered power cord and appointed with new reproduction bakelite styleplug.
There is a single small ding on both the lower shade and base, however, the black finish on both makes them barely visible unless in the exact right light at a very specific angle. Refer to fifth photo of shade and second to last photo of base.
This lamp accepts a standard edison light bulb (not included)
