Zenith Arm Chair (Chairside) Radio, model #10S452, 1940, 10 tubes :
$939.00

I am saleing a Zenith Arm Chair (Chair Side) Radio that has been in our family since my grandfather first purchased it in Indianapolis in 1940. It rested comfortably on the floor of his farm house living room for many years. It was given to my dad in the 60\"s and brought to Saratoga Springs, NY. 30 years later he gave the radio to me. We are downsizing and sadly no member of my family is interested ...so.....
The offer includes:
1 Zenith 1940 Armchair Radio, Model 10S452, chassis # 100510 New Spair Electronic Radio Tubes 2 National 6V6GTA 1 Sylvania 6E5 1 Neotron 6A8MG 1 Tungsram 6Q7G 1 RCA Victor 6J5 2 RCA 6X5GT 1 GE 7G7 1 RCA 6K7QEnvelope with spare station call letters and tuning keyOriginal Instruction manualLong-wire outdoor antenna instructionsRestoration documentA 1938 Zenith Radio brochure
The Zenith model 10S452 was produced in 1940. Zenith Armchair (aka Chairside) production started in 1937 and ended in 1942. They were not very popular and consequently very few were produced. This 10-tube model is relatively rare and very collectibleas a result. It features 10 tube superheterodyne tuning with 3 tuning ranges: Broadcast 540 KC to 1600 KC Short Wave 1 5.6 MC to 18.5 MC Short Wave 2 1505 KC to 5200 KC.
Maximum power output is 15 watts and consumption is 95 watts.
It incorporates a built-in Wavemagnet for station tuning, however an outside aerial antenna will bring in even more short wave stations. It also has an Electric Tuning Indicator, which glows as you zero in on a station. Grandfather called it a \"Magic Eye\".
The reception tone can be changed (64 variations according to the manual) by adjusting the 6 buttons on the left hand side of the dial. The buttons on the right can be pre-set to 6 different AM stations.
If you live in New England, I will gladly deliver it myself, otherwise I will have the radio professionally wrapped, insured and shipped free of charge.
If you have any questions or need additional pictures just let me know. Thanks and happy offerding.
