ZUNI VARISCITE STANDING BEAR CARVING BY LOREN TSALABUTIEUp for sale is a Zuni fetish carving of a happy standing bear by Loren Tsalabutie.Loren Tsalabutie is the son of Jeffrey Tsalabutie (d. 2009).
This fetish is carved from an absolutely beautiful piece of variscite stone with tan, brown, cream, and black matrix. The eyes of the standing bear are coral. This bear has such personality and is so lively. It will make you smile just to look at it.
The fetish is 2 and 3/8 inches high by 1 and 3/8 inches wide and 1 and 5/16 inches deep.
I have taken photos under some different lighting conditions, and please note that the actual colors of the fetish may vary from that on your computer screen. The fetish is in very good condition. It has some natural lines and matrix throughout the carving. This is part of the original rock material and is not damage. The bear is carved smooth and polished. It is really a personable bear carving from a great piece of gemstone quality variscite in matrix.
