The proper and safest way to mount a payphone islike the Bell Systems devised and instructed their service people to installthem in their Bell System Practices manuals. The payphone should be mountedusing a mounting board. The mounting board has 4 slots for the 4 security boltsthat are screwed into the back of the payphone to slide down into to secure itto the mounting board. The mounting board is secured to the wall using aminimum of six screws. The screws should be driven into a stud for a securemounting. After the phone is hung onto the mounting board the four machinescrews are screwed through the back of the telephone in the coin vault area tolock the payphone in place.
