Dated1965 Western Electric 3-Slot Payphone.

Anumber is stamped in red typical Western Electric style inside the top housing 233QA = 66. This model (#233 G) must have been used for many years, beginning inthe 1950\'s, since there are comparably so many more than othernumbers. Visually/appearance wise, the difference is almost notrecognizable by us who are “off the street”. It is the typicalmodel most often referred to as “50\'s payphones”. Some wereconverted 197\'s and other numbers. This one shows no evidence ofconversion, so it could have been a “new manufacture” in 1965. Upon sale, it will be re-tested for coins to drop through the channel prior to shipment. Doesn\'t have a ringer.

This one has a 1930\'s style vault old door but is held in by a spring, no lock therefore no key.

The vault door you see on this phone is NOT a re-pro, but genuine old vault door originally equippedwith lock and key. These doors are the same as those which date back into the 1930\'s. I am not familiar with subtle details which determine exact dates; I just know that the doors weremade prior to the early 1970\'s and used in Automatic Electric payphones until both Northern Electric and Automatic Electric ceased making them in 1972. If you had these made in the same design as these in 2017, the cost wouldlikely exceed $35. Old doors such as these are, can have a peak value of $60 or more. And here they are, being offered as part of the payphone adding to the credibility of an old assembly.

Where a payphone is sold as is such via , I will make observations and hope that my assistant-repairman will assist in this to seek contentment.Very strong effort is applied to represent the phone as it is described and shown; that is what you should receive. These are not lightweight, and shipping costs being what they are don\'t seem to drop even though gasoline priceshave gone down. A certain amount of responsibility lies with you, a buyer in observing the reality of the purchase. And, again to my knowledge, all transactions have been successful so far as contentment of purchase is concerned.Thank you for acknowledging the conditions of sales.

Anything that was phone can still be a phone; with the re-arranging of wires and hooking up a line-cord (providing that the dial is okay and thehandset has functioning capsules). The coin compartment is setup so that a money box can be installed – opening and closing. As it is now/as you see and feel it here, it is nearly as it was when it was fastened to a telephonebooth wall. I have more of these and am in pursuit of selling all. If you drop coins through, the gong and dong should sound off as originally, although I did not try it. This is a nice coin-op item although it doesn\'t requirea coin to operate as it is now. These were made under the direction of Bell Telephone engineers and are nearly identical to Western Electric payphones. If you would like this phone to work, and would enjoy tinkering with itto make it work, I can provide parts (at additional cost) a network, line-cord and diagram (instructions) for a fee as stated above.

This payphone is much like it was when in use in the 50\'s, 60\'s, 70\'s or early 1980\'s (98% of these were pulled out of the booths starting in the1970\'s). They started popping up in sizable quantities by 1981 in Telco graveyards. Bell prevented these from being sold to the public. I invested in quantities in the 1980\'s and sold them similarly. At this time we are oneof around 3 who have 80 or more and at least 2 of us are likely to sell nearly everything having to do with old 3 - Slotter (the phones, all parts, and related accessories). Most of mine have been sitting around since thelate 70\'s and early 1980\'s. Where-as until spring of 2014 I saw to it that those were in usable condition. I\'ll still provide them this way but now offer them “untouched” (except where I notice a part is absent).
