WWII Carl Zeiss blc German 12x60 Flak rangefinder binoculars w/ STUNNING optics:
$699.00

These binos were attached as a sight to a 4m rangefinder as a fire director for 88mm flak guns. The optical design of these is stunning, better than the 10x80s (which I love to death, but there is some barrel distortion etc.), and these were always coated. Similar models (with a different glare shield) were supplied to the Kriegsmarine. Zeiss also made a larger 25x100 model (which I haven\'t seen for sale in years, and would love to have) that noted British astronomer George Alcock used to discover dozens of comets. It\'s worth noting that he preferentially used German binos rather than the very nice English Ross large binoculars.
This set is all complete, no post-war additions, replacements, or butchering. Paint is original (Armament Tan, which was used on lots of optical goods, whether intended for North Afrika or not) and has seen better days, but is all original. The best part of these is the optics, they are STUNNING! Coatings are great and blemish free, prisms have no yellowing or separation. Looking back though the objective lenses, it\'s absolutely clear, with no haze at all. If you look closely at the right objective, you can see some slight smudging, not visible at all in use and unless you look for it, but you should be aware (were it not for this, I would have called the optics \"like new\"). These models are expensive ($250+) to have serviced and cleaned if needed (and the only place I trust is in the UK, so add on overseas postage). Collimation is excellent, so if these made it through 60+ years in this shape, they\'ll probably never need to be opened up (a testament to their build quality).
IPD adjustment works fine, and internal filters snap into position smartly.
