British Pattern 1897 infantry officer sword. The right side of the blade has original \"PROVED\" control mark. The straight 32 1/2\" dumbell blade with central fuller retains some faint traces of etched decoration. Steel hilt is silver painted and features the Edward VII royal cypher on the guard. Leather covered wooden grip with checkered backstrap. No scabbard. All parts are tight.Length of the blade with handle: 98 cm (38 1/2\")Length of the blade without handle: 83 cm (32 1/2\")
