WWI GERMAN 1914 IRON CROSS 1st CLASS BY GODET For Sale

This is an extremely fine First World War German 1914 Iron Cross 1st Class by Godet that is in excellent condition. The silver frame features a sharply defined, raised serrated bead that is with an attractive age toned patina. The iron core is finely struck, with sharp detail and with an immaculate stove black finish. There is virtually no wear to the finish at the high spots of the Imperial crown, the central letter “W”, and “1914” date in the lower arm. The reverse is with a wide pin that is incised with the name of the premiere maker of World War I orders and decorations, “GODET” and the silver content number “800”. This is a seldom encountered and highly desirable 1914 Iron that remains in excellent, undamaged condition.6271
