Nice untouched, un-messed with, in 100% original condition! From my personal helmet collectionWW2 Vintage IJA Type-90 aka MODEL 32 COMBAT STEEL HELMET-NOT a Siamese (Thai) Army postwar re-issue! or movie prop!SPECS:-original factory dark mustard brown painthas several scratches, scuffing, storage/use scrapes. the orange anti-rustundercoat can be seen.
-original IJA split prong STAR insignia
-open edge-twin ventilation holes (two on each side top dome)-correct outer liner domes and rivet heads
-SIZE is LARGE (\'dai\') ....the size marking is in BOTH hiragana (NOT kanji) characterand is stamped in the skirt edge of the inner helmet shell.-MFG hallmark: NAGOYA ARSENAL(?) STAR MFG logo.....star with character inside.don\'t think it the rocking star of NAGOYA. LINER:-sectional pigskin LINER....note the 3 different leathers used for linerpad pouches. missing filler padding of either cotton or kapok.-held in by split rings front & rear, and left/right side rivets-LARGE size ....has \'dai\' hiragana dot-punched near the rear split ring-partial cloth wide tape chinstrap. commonly chopped by the marine or GI to expedientremove it from body.
-original center tie cord lace....holding the leather pad sections together
ID\'ed PERSONALIZED-well ID\'ed with Japanese characters sumi-brushed in with black ink-along the left hem skirt edge-well marked-up inner dome underneath liner pads-also marked on one leather pad....see imageprobably NAME, UNIT.....good luck saying, etc
