Plaque and medals in excellent condition with very little wear and definition of design is sharp,as good as you could find and has not suffered like some from over polishing, large bronze original and not a later copy guaranteed.Press cutting- Last letter to Mother she recieved after her son was killed in actionA LAST LETTER- War, with all its suffering and agony with all its horrors and atrocities, tragedy and pathos, cannot give rise to anything more infinitely sad than the arrival of the dead soldier\'s final letter-written, on the eve of battle, by the hand destined never again to hold a pen. One such was recently recieved by the mother of Pte. Roger Clark, a few days after she recieved news of her sons\'s death in action. It is typical of the man and indeed of the British soldier as a class. Pte Clark, who was in the Middlesex Regt, wrote as follows: \" Dear Mother-Just a few lines, hoping you are well. I expect you have wondered why you have not heard from me before, but since the battle I have felt too tired for anything. You do not notice it while the engagement lasts, but as soon as its over you feel you cannot move an inch. Well, I am glad to say I got thrrough it all right, but sorry to say I have lost several chums, wounded and killed. My pal was wounded by my side while we were carrying a message, so I got him under cover and, of course, had to carry on with my job, but I have heard from him since and am glad to say he is going on well. We had our Easter Communion out in the open at eight O\'clock which would be about 6 O\'clock in Blighty, so I guessed you were doing the same thing at the same time\"
