Railroad pick axes get their name from their use in building the United States railways, or railroads as they were called.
This pick ax is very strong and sturdy yet. Age is unknown.
This one is a little smaller and lighter than others. The handle is 34 1/2" long with the width of the pick measuring 18" long. and 7/8" wide. This particular one will be shipped with handle removed from pick.
