HERE WE HAVE: An old model of George Washington\'s Private horse drawn Carriage that\'s been carved out of wood and painted. It rests on a wooden plaque that has a small brass tag reading \"George Washington\'s Private Carriage Original built in England, now on Exhibition At Mount Vernon, Virginia.\". The horses appear to be possibly be made of paper mache?
There\'s a very old (looks like a sticker but it\'s pretty worn and you can\'t feel it, so maybe stamp?) marking on the bottom that appears to read \"Schoenhut Toys Made in USA\". Schoenhut was a piano company that ended up making a lot of very popular toys and dolls before World War I. They did close in 1935 so this piece appears to be from before then.
CONDITION:Acceptable condition considering its age, but being sold as is because it does need some more thorough cleaning and repairs. There are small white paint splatters all over, but mostly on the wood base; they come off pretty easily with your finger nail but I didn\'t want to add any additional scratches to the wood. There is a nail coming out of the top of the drivers seat (although another like this online that I\'ve seen had the same thing). Missing a \"light\" on the front of the carriage. General wear to the wood as well as paint loss. The horse reigns are in poor condition and one is broken. Horse is missing a blinder. There\'s a chain attached to and hanging off the back of the carriage, not sure if it was meant to be there. Please see photos!
