Vtg 12\" Chinese Brass Cloisonne Blue Black Lotus Peony Mums Wash Bowl with Stand For Sale

ITEM DESCRIPTION: Large vintage Chinese brass and cloisonne enamel bowl or brush wash basin. Deep blue shades and black enamel come together in images of different flowers to include Peony, Chrysanthemum, and Lotus. Exposed brass rim and foot. Blue enamel on the bottom inside foot. Carved wood stand included as part of this 2 piece listing.

This is my opinion only, which I don\'t normally give, but I want to say that the depth of blue and black along with the lighter shades of blue and tiny speckles give me the feeling of looking into outer space. That beauty, which I failed to capture in my photos, was worth a mention.

ITEM CONDITION: Great solid condition. No obvious production flaws. Upon close inspection there are a couple of production flaws in the form of tiny nicks that were glazed over during one of the production phases as shown in photos. There is also a production flaw in the form of a line following the contours of the rim which is much like a scratch that has one flea sized chip of enamel out as shown in the macro photos. The photos are close up macro images that make the flaws seem significant but they are minor. There may be dust and smudges that can be cleaned.
