Vietnam Era Jacket
This beautiful, well-preserved,embroidered jacket is a vintage, (circa 1968) article of clothingfrom the Vietnam, which was purchased by a Navy signalman to be sentback home to his new wife. This was sold on the streets by aVietnamese vendor from her stock of goods for the servicemen.
The map details Vietnam anddepicts a figure holding a rifle along with a “junk” boat. Italso includes embroidered dragons on the sleeves and back. Thisjacket is reversible. The “inside” is a white satin or silk-likematerial.
As the picture indicates, there issome minor yellowing at the collar site and a minute hole in thewhite material of what would be called the inside of the jacket.(please see photos). There are no tags or labels present other thanthe tag sewn into the neck to indicate the size which is a small. These sizes tend to run small and included are some photos of thejacket being modeled by my 12 year old granddaughter for reference.
The original blue of the outsideof the jacket remains bright. This was stored in a garment bag in adry, non-smoking environment.
This jacket was worn, possibly, two or three times due to the controversy of the Vietnam War.
This item is sold as is with no returns. Please ask any questions you may have before purchasing. I can provide extra pictures or details upon request.
