VINTAGE UNUSUAL BIRD SHAPED POCKET KNIFE
WITH BRASS, BONE, AND CORAL REFINEMENTS
This is an unusual pocket knife with quite a lot of craftsmanship originally done. The body of the knife is looks like bone or tortoise and is black in color. The wings are made from brass and are movable with a scalloped shaped outer detail and inset pieces of round tortoise, coral, and bone - however some are missing as seen. The top head is then inset with eyes, a coral plumage on top of the head and a bone beak. The back of the body has a crosshatch of thin brass inlay and circles of pink coral and bone, a couple of the brass hatch are missing as seen in the photos. The tail is also slightly carved to simulate feathers. On the under body is where the single blade knife is that folds back toward the tail. There are also 2 brass feet that fold down so the knife can be displayed properly as a \"bird\". There are no makers markings found.
